To realize the dreams of Gülistan Tara and Hiro Behdın, we will resist and defeat the regimes that are hostile to women and kill them

Today we learned with great sadness and anger that the Kurdish journalists Gulistan Tara and Hiro Behdinan were martyred in Sulaymaniyah as a result of a cowardly attack by the fascist Turkish state. We condemn this attack of the fascist Turkish state and the collaboration of the PDK on the vehicle of the Çeter press company. In the person of the martyr Gulistan Tara and Hiro Behdinan, we remember all the martyrs of Kurdistan’s freedom. Six other journalists were also injured in the attack. We wish healing to the injured.

The fascist Turkish state is waging a systematic war against female politicians, journalists and vanguards of society. Fascism is most afraid of women’s freedom and women’s vanguard. With this attack, the murderous and fascist regime of Turkey has once again committed a crime. These political murders are aimed at destroying the will of women. With these attacks, the Turkish government wants to destroy the will of the people. Targeting women journalists is an attempt to silence the voice of truth. These acts are war crimes and human rights violations. Of course, it is not normal in the Kurdistan Region, the place of intellectuals and patriotism, for workers of the free press to be targeted. The Kurdistan Region administration should see its role in the development of these actions. Our enemies want such massacres of our people to become normal on the territory of Kurdistan. We must respond to these attacks with the organized strength of women. As Kongra Star, we strengthen our struggle against all forms of occupation, genocide and oppression by fascist and occupying states.

These kinds of attacks cannot weaken the will and strength of women. We promise to step up our fight against racist and fascist attacks and make it clear that nothing can stop our struggle. For this, we call on women and all people in South Kurdistan and all Kurdish people to stand up against the attacks that want to silence them. The only thing that can stop fascism is resistance and struggle.Every silence paves the way for massacres, so we must organize ourselves more than ever and intensify the struggle.
