Kobanê – 11 years of resistance

On the anniversary of Kobanê, we commemorate all the martyrs of the glorious resistance with respect, and pledge to uphold their legacy.

In 2014, the enemy of humanity, ISIS, with the support of the Turkish state, launched a brutal attack on the city of resistance. Erdoğan, who used all his technical capabilities, his gangs, and his propaganda to capture Kobanê, was waiting moment by moment for the insurgent city to fall. But with the spirit of Kurdish unity, with the spirit of global solidarity, with the strength of the YPJ and YPG fighters, and with the spirit of mobilization that came wave by wave to Kobanê from all over the world, Kobanê achieved a historic victory.

However, the fascist Turkish state, the gangs leader Erdoğan, and ISIS have never accepted this victory. Since 2014, they have continued their attacks on Kobanê untill now. Today, as part of an international plan, the same ISIS gangs, the HTS and the fascist Turkish state are intensifying their assaults on Kobanê. Kobanê remains like a thorn in the throat of Erdoğan. During the Kobanê resistance, thousands of people from all parts of Kurdistan and the world joined the struggle: they sacrificed their lives fighting to liberate Kobanê and defeat ISIS. Today, the same spirit, the same consciousness, and the same determination are once again defending the city of resistance against gangs of Al-Jolani and Erdoğan.

The coward and ruthless enemy is leaving Kobanê under continuous attacks. Water, electricity, and internet services have been cut off for the population. Children are losing their lives due to extreme cold. The humanitarian situation is moving toward catastrophe. Large numbers of Al-Jolani gangs, along with advanced military technology, are attacking Kobanê once again.

But what they forget is that the spirit of the Kobanê resistance is alive and will never allow these attacks to succeed. With this spirit of resistance, Kobanê will defeat the enemy once more. Kobanê has united Kurdistan into one body, and the peoples of Kurdistan have become one soul.

We, like the women of Rojava Kurdistan, will resist with all our strength in the spirit of Kobanê’s resistance until victory— for our dognity, and our existence. We call on all women of Kurdistan and the world to stand together with one hand and one spirit on the anniversary of Kobanê, to once again protect the city of resistance and the achievements of women.

Let us make the Turkish state gangs and Al-Jolani gangs hell with our resistance and make them regret their actions.
