“With the unity of women, we build a free, democratic, decentralized Syria.”
Global Women Campaign
On this page, we will provide the details of the campaign
“With the unity of women, we build a free, democratic, and decentralized Syria.”
It began on October 12 with a call from Syrian women,
who are demanding a decentralized, democratic,
and women-led Syria, not shaped by external plans.
You will find the videos of the call from Syria,
the call for participation
a map showing the different initiatives,
and some useful material.

Conclusion of the Campaign “With the Unity of Women, We Build a Free, Democratic, and Decentralized Syria”
We have now reached the conclusion of the campaign “With the Unity of Women, We Build a Free, Democratic, and Decentralized Syria.” Today, we presented our results to the relevant UN authorities and institutions. At the top of this page, you will find a video compilation of all the messages of solidarity we received, and right on the bottom of this script, the links to the letters to UN organs.
Your solidarity has given us strength. Once again, we have felt your energy and support, and deeply sensed how we are all part of the same struggle. Your affection and closeness give us new energy to continue this path — and, in turn, we wish to express our love and solidarity for the struggles you are carrying forward around the world.
To the Mapuche women, whose lands are divided between Chile and Argentina, yet who continue to fight for self-determination;
to the women of Balochistan, who face violence yet never give up;
to the women of the Mesoamerican Climate Caravan, who cry out “women against capital, against neoliberal machism and terrorism” and all the women struggling for freedom in Abya Yala,
to the women of Non Una di Meno, to the women active in trade unions and grassroots movements like the Sem Terra in Brazil;
to all the women in the very heart of capitalist societies who refuse to be deceived and keep fighting for freedom;
to the women in South and Eastern Kurdistan, Africa, India, Europe, Australia and everywhere else,
and to all of you, the ones who sent solidarity messages and the ones who did not;
together we have shown, once again, that women truly are the global vanguard of a free, just, democratic, and ecological society.
Today marks the end of this particular campaign, but the situation in Syria remains critical. A centralized government still seeks to erase communities that do not fit within the Arab-Sunni framework; democracy is still obstructed in most regions; women’s representation in Damascus remains negligible; large areas are still under Turkish occupation; and foreign powers continue to threaten the security and future of local populations. The risk of attacks—military and otherwise—remains ever present.
Although this campaign has reached its formal conclusion, the struggle for a democratic, decentralized Syria—led by women and free from foreign-imposed agendas—is far from over.
We invite everyone to stay informed, to stay active, and to continue building solidarity. We remain open and ready for all forms of cooperation and joint action.
