Shammo: Turkish army mercenaries repeat Shingal scenario in Afrin

The Kongra Star member, Hadiya Shammo, talked about the violations of mercenaries and the Turkish occupation army on Afrin, especially against women: “Since the occupation of Afrin, some people have managed to survive and move to Al-Shahba areas, but some of them are still suffering from the oppression of the Turkish occupation army mercenaries in Afrin.”

“The city of Afrin has transformed from a prosperous and peaceful city to a dark prison and a place for torture and rape of women,” she said.

“The media are reporting on the abductions of women in Afrin by the Turkish occupation army mercenaries, most recently selling them in the markets of Azaz. Therefore, we note that the Turkish occupation army and its mercenaries are trying to repeat what the Islamic State mercenaries did in Shangal and apply it in Afrin,” she said in another context.

“Everyone knows what happened on August 3, 2015, when ISIS mercenaries abducted and sold more than 5,000 Yezidi women in the market. Turkey and its mercenaries repeat the same scenario for women in Afrin, and women in Afrin are subjected to violence. They are marginalized by international human rights and humanitarian organizations, and no one touches on their situation and what they are suffering so far,” she added.

At the end of her speech, Hadiya Shammo called on the concerned parties and organizations that claim to protect human rights to show a firm stance towards the Turkish occupation army’s attacks against the people of Afrin, especially women, and to put an end to the Turkish violations.
