YPJ commemorates Zain Kobani’s leadership
The General Command of the Women’s Protection Units YPJ issued a written statement regarding the martyrdom of Zain Kobani and pledged to step up the struggle in compliance with the memory of the martyrs.
“Our companion Zain Kobani, the struggler woman, the leader of the times, the revolutionary militant,” she said. In the name of our companion Zain we remember with respect and tribute the other martyrs of Resistance of Dignity and all martyrs who sacrificed their lives in order to defend human values.
“In 2013, after the mercenary groups launched their offensive against our people, comrade Zain was one of the first fighters to take part in the battles against ISIS mercenaries and the rest of the mercenary groups. Zain in the war against the mercenaries of Jabhat al-Nusra in the front of the Serekaniya city, and played a major role in that battle, it also took part in the battles against ISIS mercenaries in Kobani, Suluk, Shadadi and Manbij, with courage. During the battles of Kobani, and despite the injury to her shoulder, she did not stop fighting, and showed a steadfast and courageous position in Kobani to take avenge Kobani’s martyrs, she went to Manbij. The hopes that comrade Zain believed were fulfilled in the recent campaign against ISIS mercenaries in Deir-ez-Zor. The elimination of ISIS was the fulfillment of the hopes of all the martyrs.
“On this basis, on behalf of the Women’s Protection Units YPJ, we say that we will continue the struggle as long as the memory and souls of the martyrs Habon, Rosyar, Tekoshin, Avesta, Zain and her companions live in our hearts and minds. With each martyr, our responsibilities towards the freedom of peoples are increased.
The General Command of the Women’s Protection Units concluded its statement by saying, “Once again we remember all martyrs of the freedom revolution and martyrs of Resistance of Dignity, and we wish a speedy recovery to all the wounded.
